# KBL Game Headquarters Director Yoo Jae-hak: "Legally-lenient Judgments on Body Fights may be Needed"
Regarding the controversies over decisions that recur every year, Yoo Jae-hak, the new head of the KBL, said, “I think that the KBL now needs some ‘hard calls.’”
Yoo said this while meeting with reporters at the inauguration ceremony for new KBL Commissioner Lee Soo-kwang held at the KBL Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 1st.

The controversies over referee decisions that erupt every season have become a chronic problem in professional basketball.
It was only natural that questions would be asked about how to resolve this.
Chief Yoo expressed his opinion that the KBL should also move toward a 'hard call' in line with the international trend.
A hard call is a term that refers to a lenient judgment on physical contact.
On the other hand, domestic professional basketball is evaluated as having a tendency to be strict on physical contact, or 'soft call'.
Chief Yoo said, "Basketball is a sport where physical contact occurs, and I think there is always ambiguity in the judging criteria," and added, "I will do my best to make decisions that anyone can trust."
He continued, "Because the judging of physical contact is different in domestic and international competitions, there are definitely parts where players are confused and have a hard time.
I think the [KBL](https://casinositewiki.edublogs.org/2024/10/13/kiwoom-lee-hyeong-jong-kept-his-promise-to-his-fans/) needs some hard calls now, too."
It was also pointed out that soft calls often interrupt the flow of the game.
Director Yoo said, "I can see many complaints about (soft calls) interrupting the flow of the game too much.
From the fans' perspective, there is also the problem of calls interrupting the game in the middle of the game."
He continued, "We will discuss carefully (with the on-site referees) and try to make changes."
Director Yoo Jae-hak is always the first person to be mentioned when choosing the best coach in professional basketball history.
He led Hyundai Mobis to victory six times during his 18-year tenure.
He is the coach with the most wins in professional basketball history.
He stepped down from the front lines as the 'general coach' of Hyundai Mobis at the end of the 2021-2022 season and completely retired in March of last year.

But I also think, 'Oh, this is going to be really hard,'" he said, expressing his feelings about starting his 'third basketball life' as an administrator.
He continued, "I received a lot of love for basketball, and I played basketball my whole life, but after taking a two-year break, I thought about what I could do one last time, and I thought about it a lot when the KBL called me," and said, "I will manage the game so that the fans will not be disappointed."
